The purpose of the project is the comprehensive renovation of the major structures included in the project whose regular maintenance has not been possible in recent years due to lack of resources. During the reconstruction, concrete structures shall be repaired, the engineering parts of hydraulic closing and actuating equipment will be refurbished, steel structures will have their corrosion protection renewed, and electrical fixtures will also be modernised. In the course of the project, underwater parts and main and temporary locks will be renovated, while in the case of the larger structures, the lifting equipment moving the temporary locks and auxiliary facilities will also be renovated. The project is financed by funding from the European Union.
